I actually had a date this morning! Dh and I have been wanting to go see the new Harry Potter movie as we both loved the books and the other movies so I called my mom yesterday to see if she'd come over to babysit. She said she would so this morning dh and I took off for a few hours all by ourselves. It was so nice! After the movie we went over to Moe's ("Welcome to Moe's!") for some lunch. Yum! Every parent needs a bit of adult time with their spouse once in a while IMO.As for the movie. We were a bit disappointed in it. They left out sooo much and added/changed scenes that really didn't need to be there. Usually a good movie leaves you wondering where the time went. This time I felt like I'd been sitting there for 2.5 hours. :( I just wish they'd stayed truer to the books. Since they did leave stuff out I'm wondering how they are going to make the next 2 movies (1 thick book left so they are splitting it). I'm glad we got to see it though.
Finally got to go out with the girls tonight to see the movie on the big screen. I had already seen it once online (sshhh) and liked it better this time since the quality was better. I'm def on Team Edward! The teens behind us were ridiculous. I tried to ignore them but my friend Julie had to get onto them at one point. Someone must have seen the movie a few dozen times bc one girl was reciting the lines word for word! When Edward came on the screen, there were gasps and squeals. Same thing for Jacob and Carlisle. Oh my. I thought it was all rather funny though. We just won't let Amy pick the seats next time. ;)After the movie, we all headed to our friend Jen's house (at 10pm no less) to discuss the book and movie and just do a lot of gabbing. Okay, mainly gabbing. It was really nice to get out with my girlfriends and see a movie and hang out. Next up- Cookie Exchange!!
That Thanksgiving is over? Phew. Everyone just left and I have peace and quiet once again. When my family is over, we talk and laugh. When his family is over, everyone hangs out on the couch and watches a movie. A loud movie since half of them are deaf apparently. And they always bring uninvited guests. Every. Single. Year. It's common courtesy to just let the hostess know you're bringing someone, right? MIL didn't even know they were coming. It usually irks the hell out of me but I just let it roll this year. I just planned for extra food.Dinner was good though and I got mucho compliments on my food. I'm so full. Time to get back on the WW wagon! I tried not to overdo it tonight though. What else...I watched a bootleg copy of Twilight last night (flame me if you want). It was a very poor quality picture so I def want to see it again in full color and light. It was that bad. I really liked the movie though. I went into it knowing I always like the book better and I would have added some scenes and possibly taken others out but it was good! I really hope they can put more money into the next movie and make it even better. Dh watched with me since I'm always talking about the books and he even enjoyed it. He went and dowloaded the audio books right after! :) He's not a reader so audio books are about the only way I can get him to *read* a book. That's it for our weekend so far. Tomorrow is unplanned as of yet but I'm sure you'll read all about it if we actually do something!
Check it out HERE. I love that they've signed on for 3 movies! I hope this movie is a huge success (which I expect it will be) so we get to see the next book on the big screen.
They are starting to roll in after pre-screenings last night. I'm soooo excited to see this movie. Here's is Part 1 of a review by a TwilightMom. WARNING: There may be spoilers involved. I didn't see anything I didn't already know but here's fair warning. Okay, here's Part 1. Keep checking back for Part 2.I've also been reading some messages from Twilight Moms who saw the screening last night. If you want to read those messages (and there ARE spoilers!), go HERE. No matter what anyone says, I'm going into this knowing that they will never make a movie as good as the book. Never.
Let's go see the staaarrrs. Red lights holler deep Depression, What do we care? Movies are there!Bonus points to whoever can tell me what movie that's from WITHOUT looking it up! No cheating! Today was $1 day at the movies again so I let Logan stay out of summer camp so he could go with his friend Hayden. It was me, Bella and the boys, Jen and Zane and Scarlett with her boys. I think we took up half a row all on our own! After getting everyone settled in with their popcorn and drinks, we sat down to watch Shrek 3. It was ehh. The boys have watched it a few times but dh told me later on that it's not a movie they really like. They'd much rather watch one of the first two Shrek movies. There was a lot of adult humor in it that goes right over their heads. On the way out of the theater, I heard someone mention a Shrek 4 coming out. Oy. How many are they planning on?So after the movie, we parted ways with our friends and walked down to Sally's Beauty to pick up some hair clips for Bella. I really want to try making my own bows for her hair. We also stopped by the candy shop near the theater. Mmm. Ian got a M&M cookie, Logan got a white choc. pretzel and choc covered oreo and I got a huge hunk of Peanut Butter Overload fudge to share with dh. Then we stopped by dh's office to drop off a CF card for his camera and went to get lunch at Burger King. Bleh. The only good thing about their lunch is the apple fries. Especially when compared to McDonalds. Cold nuggets and fries are not appetizing! Even the mac & chs that Logan got was tasteless. It's Kraft- how do they screw that up?! Guess that's why we rarely go there. Now we're home and just relaxing waiting for the rain to come. Logan and I got pretty wet yesterday after tumbling- even with the umbrella! I kinda wish we would get a good sprinkle without any thunder so I could let them go out and play in it. But this is FL and where there's thunder, there's lightning so we don't get to do that very often.
