10 reasons why gay marriage is wrong ;)

Stolen from the OBBC board (oh how I will miss it when it's gone)

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

I'm against gay marriage, but not because I'm anti-gay or I think gays shouldn't have the same rights as straight people. That being said, these "reasons" are ridiculously stupid.

I am against gay marriage too. Family is a natural institution, man and woman, the cell of society. You go against that and that's why society in our world is doing so great right now...Pope John Paul II said gay marriage is a direct attack to families. I agree.
I am not homophobic or anything, I just think if they CHOOSE (most of them are gay by choice not by being born like that) their livestyles, then they must learn to live with the consequences of it.

I'm an open minded person. I can't believe that anyone would think that 2 people who are in love regardless of their sex is an attack on anything or anyone. They are born gay. They do not choose to be gay. I think my jaw dropped when I read your comments. O.M.G.

To each his own I guess.

Karlise, I have to agree with you...Whether they are born, confused, choose to be gay, that is still their life...They should not be consider outcasts, strange, freaks or whatever. They are still humans with the EXACT needs and wants like us. Church, gov't or anyone should not judge them or put stimpulations on them. Its a sore subject for me when God and the Church are brought into it...God has never said that gay people are bad or should be thought about differently...its the people that form the church and interpet what the bible that say it or what they believe people should be...People can believe as they wish, but you hear of such harsh attacks and opinions.

I also knew two people that had a son by infertily methods. Hell, they love their son as much as all of us loves our kids...That's what matters, not all the politics and discrimination in our society...

(Sorry I posted a long comment...I just feel with everything else WRONG that we self-induce in the world, this is ridiculous!)

My opinion is based on moral, anthropology and philosophy lessons learned in Catholic schools and college throughout my life.
It might seem outdated and stupid to you, but like you said, everyone is free to agree with it or not.

Good points Karlise! I personally think no one would choose a life of ridicule (lets be honest, there probably aren't many gay people who have never been criticized for thier lifestyle). Therefore, I am a firm believer in the fact that people are not gay "by choice". Regardless of whether or not it's a choice, I support whatever people want to do. It's not hurting me. I'd rather see a happily married gay couple than the moronic people who are populating the world by having unprotected sex with multiple partners. There are many things that are hurting society these days, and I happen to believe that gay marriage is not one of them.

Anyone else find the "vote yes to ammendment 2" commical? It doesn't even make sense. LOL.

Okay, sorry, that was long-winded.
